Promotional still from Syfy's fantasy series "The Magicians"

"The Magicians" season 2 is all set to air next year and the first scene of the premiere has been revealed.

At the end of the first season, Quentin and the rest of the gang had an unfortunate encounter with the Beast. They were not able to defeat the Beast, leaving them all in varying states of hurt. During the recently concluded San Diego Comic-Con, a teaser featuring the first scene of episode 1 has been released. In the video, Quentin is wandering around the woods looking distressed. He chances upon a deserted and familiar cottage, and there he meets a "healer and gardening enthusiast."  Another clip was also released with behind-the-scene footages along with some familiar and new set locations.

Lev Grossman, the author of the show's source material, recently shared photos of the new library set made for the show. Through his Twitter account, Grossman mentioned that the set is still under construction. To give fans a hint of how magical the Brakebills library will be, Grossman posted a short clip showing a cool prop which fans should look forward to. "More from the Brakebills library: the most magic book you'll see today," the caption in his video post reads.

Writer/producer Sera Gamble shared images of the first day of filming as well. Some of her Instagram posts shows white horses, fields and a magical-looking tree in Fillory and beyond.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, actor Arjun Gupta said that the plot will start exactly where season 1 left off. His co-star Summer Bishil chimed in, saying how the story will explore more of Fillory. "Fillory is beautiful," she said. "It really feels like we're somewhere magical when we're in Vancouver because we're always in some majestic forest and it's lit like heavens are opening."

"The Magicians" season 2 premieres next year on Syfy, but the network has yet to announce a premiere date.
