Hit NBC medical drama series "The Night Shift" returns for its third season tomorrow, June 1 and the night shift crew of San Antonio Medical Center are back for more action.

The first part of the premiere episode will see the overnight hospital staff deal with an unusual car accident rescue. According to the official synopsis for tomorrow's episode 1 titled "The Times They Are A-Changin," the crew will be involved in a life-and-death rescue of a woman who was severely hurt in a vehicular accident. TC Callahan (Eoin Macken), Scott Clemmens (Scott Wolf) and Topher Zia (Ken Leung) are busy doing everything they can to save the woman's life, while Drew Alister (Brendan Fehr) is doing time in another country. He and his colleague Syd Jennings (recurring guest star Jennifer Beals) are faced with a problem wherein the cultural divide gets in the way of their efforts to treat a young Afghani woman. Shannon Rivera (Tanaya Beatty) is the team's newest recruit, as she was accepted to be part of the crew with the help of Jordan Alexander (Jill Flint). Shannon recently graduated from med school, and she is determined to prove herself. However, her "spunky, outspoken nature" may not be everyone's cup of tea.

Meanwhile, the plot for next week's episode has also been released by the network. According to the official synopsis for the second part of the premiere titled "The Thing with Feathers," TC (Eoin Macken) and Scott (Scott Wolf) are tasked to save the life of a young boy and his mother who were involved in a serious car accident. As the boy fights for his life, the crew later on discovers more about the family dynamic. Elsewhere, Drew (Brendan Fehr) and Syd (Jennifer Beals) continue their work in Afghanistan after shots were fired in the operating room.
