'The Originals' season 4 spoilers, plot news: Hayley regrets saving Mikaelsons? Chris Wood not joining upcoming installment?

When "The Originals" season 3 ended, viewers saw Hayley Marshall taking the coffins containing the Mikaelson siblings' bodies with her and her daughter Hope to safety. However, when the show returns for its fourth installment, it looks like she would regret saving the siblings in the first place.

It would be remembered that Hayley took the bodies of Elijah (Daniel Gillies), Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic), Freya (Riley Voelkel), and Klaus (Joseph Morgan) to safety with Marcel Gerard (Charles Michael Davis) hot on their trail. Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) might regret saving the siblings because they would wake up "changed" persons ... or vampires, for that matter.

The season 3 finale saw Klaus making the ultimate sacrifice to save his siblings; he was staked with the Tunde Blade while his siblings were put in a dreamscape where they await a savior.

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Michael Narducci revealed that fans could see a glimpse of the dreamscape when "The Originals" season 4 returns. Moreover, he confirmed that the Mikaelson siblings will be "much changed" when Hayley, Hope, and Keelin (Christina Moses), another werewolf, finally rescues them. According to the EP, the change wouldn't be pleasant, leading Hayley to regret the action.

Meanwhile, after Moses, there were rumors that Chris Wood, who played Malachai "Kai" Parker on "The Vampire Diaries," was set to join "The Originals" season 4. However, in an interview with TV Line, executive producer Julie Plec, who likewise EPs for TVD, said fans would have to wait a while longer before they could see Wood on TVD's spin-off series.

Apparently, they couldn't find a suitable arc for Kai in "The Originals" season 4. She did promise that Kai might still cross paths with Hayley, Klaus, and the rest of the crew somewhere down the line.

"The Originals" season 4 is expected to premiere on The CW midseason 2017. Until then, fans would have to make do with spoilers and updates, so keep coming back for them.
