'The Sims 4' PS4 and Xbox One release date: Not expected this year due to technical problems

A lot of people have been enjoying Maxis' latest life simulator video game "The Sims 4." However, the game studio has not released any information regarding its plans of converting "The Sims 4" into a playable video game in PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. There are rumors that Maxis is in the process of creating a console-compatible version of "The Sims 4," although if the latest reports are correct, the followers of the game may not see this version until next year.

News Every Day reported that Maxis and other "The Sims 4" developers such as The Sim Studios are trying to make the game compatible for the latest generation of consoles. However, the companies are reportedly having some technical difficulties in porting over the PC version of the game to Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Specifically, the delay in having the console version of "The Sims 4" is due to the "significant technical glitches" in the process of porting the game itself.

News website Yibada also noted that it usually takes less than two years for a "Sims" game to have a console version. As an example, "The Sims 3" version for Xbox One and PlayStation 3 did not take very long to be released. The console version of "The Sims 3" was released less than two years after its PC version was launched. Following this schedule pattern, if Maxis was to make a console version of "The Sims 4," it should have been out early this year.

Amid all of the speculations, Maxis and The Sims Studios remain silent regarding the console version of "The Sims 4," although they are currently busy with the game's latest expansion pack.

Just recently, the official website of "The Sims" video game series revealed the latest expansion pack of "The Sims 4" that involves restaurant life and "clumsy waiters." The announcement states that the game can be purchased in advance by the players in less than a month. More details regarding "The Sims 4: Dine out" will be released over the coming weeks.
