Microsoft Corporation has not released any official statements that they are working on its next console after Xbox One. However, rumors are rife that the tech giant is already on its way to release its latest big gaming device to rival Sony's next generation PlayStation console.

If the rumors are correct, the public can expect Microsoft to unveil its latest console at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016 this coming June. Forbes reported that the company will take the opportunity to showcase its latest Xbox offering, and although Microsoft has been very secretive regarding its current projects, there are claims that the Xbox Two will be the highlight of its presentation. However, there is also a slight possibility that instead of a completely different Xbox Two, Microsoft may unveil a new version of Xbox One.

There are reports that Microsoft's Xbox Two will be pitted against the rumored PlayStation NEO, also known as PlayStation 5 or PlayStation 4.5 among the game enthusiasts. While everything else at this point is pure speculation, it is strongly believed that Microsoft will develop a new Xbox that is more powerful than PlayStation NEO.

According to Yibada, there is an increasing speculation that Sony will release PlayStation NEO in September. This will be done before the anticipated launching of PlayStation VR. First rumored as the PlayStation 5, the PlayStation NEO is not expected to be a totally different device from PlayStation 4. Instead, it will be an upgraded version of Sony's current generation of console, possibly featuring an enhanced visual setting with 4K screen resolution as suggested by its other nickname, PS4K.

On the other hand, Microsoft is expected to release its next generation of console with Xbox Two. As a glimpse of the possible capabilities of Xbox Two, Game N Guide reported that the device will have a much-improved GPU intended to surpass PlayStation NEO. While both devices will likely use AMD chipsets, the Xbox Two processor is expected to be far superior. The same with the PlayStation NEO, Xbox Two will feature 4K resolution with frame rates above 60 fps. Most importantly, the Xbox Two is expected to boast a smoother backward compatibility feature than the previous consoles.
