2018 Lexus LC release date, specs, price news: high-performance coupe available this May for $92,975

Lexus has announced pricing for the 2018 LC before it arrives in dealerships this May. The high-performance coupe comes with premium features but is able to maintain a competitive price that is under $100,000.

The 2018 Lexus LC 500 is powered by a 5.0-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine and mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. It delivers 471 horsepower and 398 pound-feet of torque. The coupe has a starting price of $92,000. Meanwhile, the 2018 LC 500h comes with a 3.5-liter V6 full hybrid powertrain that produces 354 horsepower. It has a starting price of $96,510.

Both prices mentioned will incur an additional charge of $975 for delivery, processing and handling.

Standard features for the 2018 LC 500 and 2018 LC 500h include ultra-compact triple projector LED headlamps and arrowhead daytime running lights to create Lexus' signature lighting. There is also a three-dimensional rear lamp, Drive Mode Select, paddle shifters, new Remote Touch Interface with touchpad, Lexus Premium Audio and a 10.3-inch TFT multi-information display.

Lexus has also made several safety features standard including Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, All-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist and Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist and Intelligent High Beam.

For prospective buyers looking for more features for their high-performance coupe, Lexus has also made several packages available.

The Touring Package, $4,000 for the LC 500 and $2,790 for the LC 500h, will add a glass roof, 20-inch forged wheels, heated and ventilated semi-aniline seats, a two-way passenger seat with lumbar support, a Mark Levinson audio system, Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) and Intuitive Park Assist (IPA).

Meanwhile, the Sport Package with Glass comes with 20-inch forged wheels, heated and ventilated Alcantara Sport seats, a two-way passenger seat with lumbar support, Lexus Premium Audio, Limited Slip Differential (LSD), BSM and IPA. It will cost $4,000 for the LC 500 and $2,400 for the LC 500h.

Customers can also opt for the Sport Package with Carbon which will incur an additional $7,000 for the LC 500 and $5,400 for the LC 500h. It adds a carbon fiber reinforced plastic composite roof, 21-inch forged wheels, heated and ventilated Alcantara Sport seats, a two-way passenger seat with lumbar support, LSD, BSM and IPA. A Heads-Up display, Cold Area Package with a heated steering wheel and windshield de-ice and a Mark Levinson audio system are also available.

Last but not the least, the optional Performance Package with Carbon costs $10,000 for the LC 500 and $8,790 for the LC 500h. It comes with all the features of the Sport Package with Carbon but adds a Variable Gear Ratio System, active rear steering, an active rear spoiler, an Alcantara headliner and carbon fiber scuff plates.
