'Assassin's Creed: The Ezio Collection' news & updates: 4K display support for PS4 Pro with day one patch
After speculations and several leaked details about the trilogy collection, Ubisoft finally announced in September that an "Assassin's Creed: The Ezio Collection" trilogy is to be released on Nov. 15 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 (PS4) players.
True enough, the trilogy collection was released on Wednesday, Nov. 15, revealing updated versions of "Assassin's Creed II," "Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood," and "Assassin's Creed: Revelations."
Aside from the three games, "The Ezio Collection" also comes with a complete range of single-player downloadable content (DLC) expansions that were previously released for all base games. In addition, the collection comes with one free movie ticket for the upcoming "Assassin's Creed" movie on Dec. 21.
Most of all, the release of "The Ezio Collection" also came with a day-one patch update that mainly renders dynamic 4K display support so PS4 Pro players can enjoy the collection in crisp, 4K and high dynamic range (HDR) display.
Aside from that, the patch also includes fixes to localization issues that are present in both PS4 and Xbox One consoles. In PS4, only the placeholder text in several map locations in "Brotherhood" are fixed under localization.
As for Xbox One, more localization issues are fixed such as an issue in "Revelations" in which some texts are displayed in traditional Chinese, and an "ID Not Found" display when losing network connection, and more.
The patch update also includes improvements and fixes to the stability of the game and its overall gameplay. Players can see the full patch notes here.
The release of "The Ezio Collection" is in celebration of the franchise's milestone of reaching a record of 100 million sold copies. It is also done to add up hype for the upcoming "Assassin's Creed" movie next month.
"This is a huge milestone for the Assassin's Creed franchise, but we believe the best is yet to come," brand director Etienne Allonier said during a previous interview. "Having seen what's gone into this year's movie and into future Assassin's Creed games, we think fans and newcomers alike will be excited by everything Assassin's Creed has to offer," he added.
