Asus ZenFone 2 vs Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Comparison: Review of Specs, Features and Price - Tough Duel Between 2 Phablets
The older Samsung Galaxy Note 4 manages to put up a good fight against the soon to be launched Asus ZenFone 2, which stands out as the first phablet with 4GB RAM.
Despite this major advantage by ZenFone 2, the Galaxy Note 4 still emerges as an equal when the two devices are compared.
Starting with design, the ZenFone 2 has a premium brushed aluminum body which tapers towards its edge, which means it is great to hold. It also has a slim profile. However, it does not have a stylus that the Note 4 has in the form of the S Pen.
Coming to the design, the Note 4 has a plastic body and a metal band around its edge which gives it a premium look. Its back panel has a faux leather finish.
Comparing the displays on the devices, the ZenFone 2 has a 5.5-inch IPS screen, with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a pixel density of 403 pixels per inch. The Note 4 has a bigger 5.7-inch Super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a pixel density of 515 pixels per inch.
As for their specs, the Note 4 has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset, quad-core 2.7 GHz Krait 450 CPU and Adreno 420 GPU along with 3 GB of RAM. The ZenFone 2 has an Intel Atom Z3580 chipset, a Quad-core 2.3 GHz CPU and a PowerVR G6430 GPU. The ZenFone 2 will be sold with either 4GB or 2GB of RAM.
The camera on the rear of the ZenFone 2 is a 13 megapixel version while that of the Note 4 has a 16 megapixel version. The secondary camera on the ZenFone 2 is a 5 megapixel version while the Note 4 has a 3.7 megapixel version.
As for their external storage, the ZenFone 2 has a microSD slot which can be used to add external storage of up to 64 GB, while the Note 4's slot can be used to add up to 128 GB.
Finally in terms of price, the ZenFone 2, which is expected to be released in March this year, and its version with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB on board storage will be priced at $199 without a contract. As for the Note 4 it can be got at $299 with two-year contract.
