'Batman: Arkham Knight' PS4 Release Date Set for June 2, 2015 Worldwide

"Batman: Arkham Knight," the finale to the Arkham series, will be released to PS4 worldwide on June 2, 2015. In this game, Batman faces the Scarecrow, who returns to unite super villains such as Penguin, Two-Face and Harley Quinn to destroy The Dark Knight once and for all.

For the first time in the franchise, Batman will be able to drive around Gotham City in the Batmobile. The vehicle can jump, speed boost, rotate, smash through objects, and fire missiles to immobilize enemy vehicles. It has two modes: Pursuit and Battle. Batman can be ejected from the Batmobile and begin gliding around Gotham City.

Batman will be able to fly through the air using his cape, with gliding allowing for longer flights, deeper dives and higher climbs.

The game also introduces the "Fear Takedown" feature where Batman can subdue up to three enemies at the same time as long as he is undetected. Time slows down after each take down, allowing the player to target the next enemy. Dangerous items within the area can be integrated into combat for environmental attacks. Batman can also disarm enemies wielding items like baseball bats and use these items on several enemies before they break. Some enemies are armed with guns that can damage Batman.

"Batman: Arkham" is a series of action-adventure video games based on the DC comics character, Batman. It is developed by Rocksteady Studios and Warner Bros. Games Montreal and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.

The first game, "Batman: Arkham Asylum" released in 2009 showed Batman trying to prevent Joker from destroying Gotham City after taking control of Arkham Asylum. The second game, "Arkham City," released in 2011, is set one year later, after Hugo Strange expands Arkham into a super prison enclosing segments of Gotham City. "Arkham Origins" is a prequel, set years before the events of the first game, where a younger Batman has to go up against Black Mask and deadly assassins. "Batman: Arkham Knight" is the last of the series.
