Many viewers had issues with the way "Man of Steel" depicted Superman (Henry Cavill), especially in the later scenes where he wrought havoc and destruction in Metropolis while engaged in a battle with General Zod (Michael Shannon) and when he killed Zod by snapping his neck. This is definitely not the behavior people would associate with Superman.

Director Zack Snyder's objective in "Man of Steel" was to show a man who wasn't quite Superman yet and who was just starting out in his new role on Earth. In a recent interview with Empire magazine, Synder said he and producers David S. Goyer and Chris Nolan had long talks about the climax of the 2013 movie "and I said that I really feel we should kill Zod, and that Superman should kill him."

He said he wanted to create a scenario where Superman would find himself facing two hard choices: "Either he's going to see [people in Metropolis] chopped in half, or he's gotta do what he's gotta do."

The trailer of "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" shows that no one is a fan of Superman, with people questioning his presence, his origin, and his intentions. A scene shows a statue of Superman spray-painted with "False God" on the chest. A voice over by Lex Luthor (Jessie Eisenberg) declares that the devils do not come from the hell beneath, but from the sky.

Batman definitely is not a fan, asking Superman whether he bleeds, and threatens him that "You will."

As the title suggests, and as the trailer shows, this movie will have Batman and Superman face off against each other.

While the first part of the trailer takes off from where "Man of Steel" ended and focuses on Superman, the second half focuses on Bruce Wayne/Batman (Ben Affleck) and his confrontation with Superman.

The movie is intended to introduce the Justice League universe (rivalling the Marvel Universe) and will be the springboard or prologue of sorts for the planned Justice League movies, as well as the individual movies of the members of the Justice League (Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and others).

"Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" will hit theaters on March 25, 2016.
