In comparing the BlackBerry Classic against the Samsung Galaxy S5, it is evident that the devices have two different builds. The Classic, for instance, veers towards the traditional BlackBerry device design while the Galaxy S5 looks and performs the way a smartphone from the Samsung stable should.

Design-wise, while the Galaxy S5 is not an instant hit to those who are familiar with Android phones from Samsung, the phone has its strengths in the form of menu buttons built into the screen and a dimpled back panel which allows for better grip.

On the other hand, the BlackBerry Classic takes pride in its QWERTY keyboard, its biggest standout feature which makes the job of typing even long articles a cinch.

As far as phone display is concerned, the Galaxy S5 has a Super AMOLED 5.1-inch screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a pixel density of 432 pixels per inch. This means this phone is great if you want to watch videos.

The BlackBerry Classic has a 3.5-inch capacitive touch screen with a resolution of 720 x 720 pixels and a pixel density of 294 pixels per inch.

The Samsung S5 really opens up it leads on its rival when it comes to specs, as it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 MSM8974-AC chip and a Quad core Krait 400 CPU clocked at 2.5 MHz along with an Adreno 330 GPU.

Compared to this, the BlackBerry Classic has a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8960 chip along with a Dual core Krait CPU clocked at 1.5 MHz and an Adreno 225 GPU.

When it comes to RAM, both phones have the same 2 GB worth.

As for internal storage, the BlackBerry Classsic has 16 GB worth, while the Samsung S5 has 32 GB. However, the external storage on both devices can be expanded up to 128 GB using microSD slots.

Comparing their price tags, the BlackBerry Classic is available unlocked from Amazon's at $449 while the unlocked Galaxy S5 is priced at $530 on the same site.
