"Elder Scrolls 6" is already in development, according to Bethesda's director and executive producer Todd Howard.

In a new interview with Glixel, the game director confirmed that the much anticipated "Elder Scrolls" installment is already in the works. However, fans should not get their hopes up yet since it looks like the wait will be much longer. Even though the game is now being developed, Howard stressed that it is still in its early stages.

"It's not what you would call a big, active project right now," he said. "There are some other [projects] that we have going. We know [The Elder Scrolls is] important to our fans, and we need to be careful about setting expectations. It's certainly a game that we'll be making one day. I could sit here and explain to you exactly what we want it to be."

Meanwhile, it seems that the game director has also confirmed that Skyrim is indeed arriving at the Nintendo Switch. Howard mentioned he played the upcoming portable console at E3 last year, and he seemed very positive about the latest offering from Nintendo.

"I love it. I got to play it. I will tell you--well, maybe that's an N.D.A. thing," he continued. "One of the best demos I've ever seen. Probably the best demo I've ever seen. At E3."

As noted by WCCFTech, "Skyrim" was shown running on the Nintendo Switch during the device's launch last month. Bethesda, however, did not confirm anything about "Skyrim" being officially released on Nintendo's much-hyped platform. Howard finally revealed during his interview that the company will be supporting Nintendo's hybrid hardware.

"We're definitely going to be supporting it [Nintendo Switch]," Howard added. "It's the first time we've done something on Nintendo. If you don't count the old NES stuff. 'Home Alone.' Or 'Where's Waldo?'"

A remastered version of Skyrim, the Special Edition, was released in October for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
