"Empire" season 3 will feature some strong new voices.

Singer and actress Sierra McClain of the pop and R&B group McClain (in which she is joined by her two sisters) is boarding "Empire" in a recurring role, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

According to the outlet, McClain is taking on the role of Nessa, a talented and loyal protege to Xzibit's Shyne. While the young singer initially appears to be no more than a shy follower of Lucious' former ally, she is soon revealed as a "rare talent with a killer voice" whom Lucious (Terrence Howard) will want to sign to Empire.

Aside from McClain, the new season will also feature rapper and former Khloe Kardashian boyfriend French Montana. According to Entertainment Weekly, the singer is set to appear in the "Empire" season 3 premiere episode as Vaughn, a music industry mogul who also happens to be a member of Lucious' inner circle.

EW also hinted at the possibility of his character becoming a new love interest for Lucious' ex-wife Cookie (Taraji P. Henson).

McClain and French Montana will be joining another recently announced guest star, music mogul Birdman.

In addition, Xzibit, who first appeared in the series in season 2, is said to be playing a more prominent role in "Empire" in season 3. The rapper/actor debuted at the end of season 2 as Shyne, Lucious' rival.

"Both of those men are going to feature in major stories in season three," "Empire" showrunner Ilene Chaiken said in an interview with THR back in May. "We're talking about season three as a Godfather-style opus of crime and hip-hop. It's going to be wall-to-wall music, but also all of Lucious' demons coming back to roost."

Meanwhile, a new season 3 poster that was unveiled by EW on Thursday, July 14, seems to suggest that Lucious and Cookie will be reconciling in the show's new season.

The poster, which is captioned "Their reign. Their rules." shows the two standing together, with Lucious resting a hand on Cookie's shoulder. This is a far cry from where the two were at the end of season 2. In the finale, Cookie flipped out and stormed off after Lucious married Anika (Grace Gealey).

"Empire" season 3 debuts Wednesday, Sept. 21, at 9 p.m. ET on Fox.
