'Fast & Furious 8' release date, plot news & update: Paul Walker's character not making a cameo
Long-running action film franchise "Fast and Furious" is moving on with its eighth installment and it's going to hit theaters next year. Fans have been wondering if the late Paul Walker's character, Brian O' Connor, will be making an appearance again in "Fast and Furious 8."
There have been rumors swirling around saying that the movie will feature a cameo of Brian. Though it may sound exciting and definitely something that fans would want to see, reports suggest that it's less likely to happen.
The actor died in 2013 after a car accident. The tragedy happened even before they were able to finish "Fast and Furious 7," which was set for release in 2015. Since Walker played a main role in the film, the production team was forced to make use of imaging technology to continue his part in the film.
They were able to successfully bring back Walker to life with the help of the actor's younger brothers, Cody and Caleb. They worked on the film by having their movements and actions put on record and then just digitally superimposed Walker's face in post-production.
Because of the success of the seventh installment, fans hoped that the eighth movie would do the same just to bring back the "Into the Blue" actor in the franchise even after his death. But reports said that "Fast and Furious 8" will be moving on with a new storyline.
With Walker's character already given a wonderful and emotional exit in part 7, the film franchise can move on without having to worry about the situation of Brian. The Walker family has also decided that it's best to leave Brian's story that way, in which he decided to be with his family and retire from his old ways.
Fans can still expect a lot from the upcoming movie because reports say that new cast members have been added, including Helen Mirren, Charlize Theron and Kristofer Hivju. Regular cast members will also make a comeback and this includes Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tego Calderon, Dwayne Johnson, Tyrese Gibson, Chris Bridges and Elsa Pataky.
"Fast and Furious 8" will premiere in April 2017.
