Galaxy Note Edge vs Xiaomi Mi Note Review: Specs, Price and Features Comparison - Samsung Phone's Futuristic Design Stands Out
The Samsung Galaxy Note Edge with its futuristic bent tip has set the stage for more phones with flexible screens. However, compared to the Xiaomi Mi Note, it is pretty costly, even though it has a stylus which its competitor does not have.
There is no doubt that the Note Edge is a phablet with stunning design and a flexible tip that displays notifications independent from its main screen. But it still has a plastic body like other smartphones from Samsung.
The Galaxy Note 4 has metal band around its edge and a plastic back panel which allows it to be easily held. As for the Mi Note, it comes with a metal body but has Gorilla 3 Glass on its front with a slight curve while its glass back panel has a bigger curve.
As for their display, the Note Edge has a 5.6-inch Super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1600 x 2560 pixels and a density of 524 pixels per inch. The Mi Note has an IPS LCD capacitive screen measuring 5.7 inches with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 386 pixels per inch.
Coming to their specs, the Note Edge has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset, Quad-core 2.7 GHz Krait 450 CPU and Adreno 420 GPU. The Mi Note has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset, Quad-core 2.5 GHz Krait 400 CPU and Adreno 330 GPU. Both devices come with 3 GB of RAM.
Comparing their cameras, the Note Edge has a 16 megapixel version with optical image stabilization, a LED flash and autofocus. The Mi Note has a 13 megapixel camera with dual-LED flash and autofocus.
However, the Mi Note does not have a microSD card slot while the Note Edge has one which can be used to add external storage of up to 128 GB.
Finally in terms of price, the Mi Note is much cheaper. Its 16 GB model is priced at $399 while the Note Edge is priced at $945.99 without a contract.
