Google Nexus 2016 release date, specs news: To come with Android 7.1 Nougat in September?
Tech fans are currently focusing on the release of Google's latest operating system, Android 7.0 Nougat. Previous reports suggested that the software might debut on the new Google Nexus device. However, new reports have emerged that the upcoming Google Nexus 2016 will come out on the market soon with preinstalled Android 7.1 Nougat.
The rumor started when an alleged application developer shared evidence that there are currently over 100 Android users who are on 7.1 version of Nougat. An image was posted on IMGUR bearing the current download report of the new mobile operating system. It shows that on Aug. 21, 2016, there were 281 Android 7.0 Nougat and 115 Android 7.1 Nougat downloads.
Google has yet to confirm these reports; however, if rumors prove to be true, the highly anticipated HTC made Nexus Marlin and Nexus Sailfish might arrive with Android 7.1 Nougat.
In another report, David Ruddock from Android Police, recently posted on Twitter that the new Google Nexus 2016 will finally come out in late September or early October. Although the prediction sounds pretty interesting, fans should take it with a grain of salt until Google or HTC makes an official announcement.
Ruddock also backs rumors that the new Nexus handsets will come out with Android 7.1 Nougat.
"Looks like the new Nexus phones will launch with Android 7.1, which is now confirmed to be Nougat's MR1 release," he said in a Twitter post.
Meanwhile, according to VineReport, the Nexus Sailfish is believed to be the successor of Nexus 5X. It will come out carrying a 5-inch screen with a 1080p display. On the other hand, the Nexus Marlin is said to arrive sporting a 5.5-inch screen with Quad HD resolution.
Both the Nexus Marlin and Nexus Sailfish are expected to run on the Snapdragon 820 processor from Qualcomm. The powerful processor will be paired with 4 GB of RAM.
Fans are now expecting Google to release an official statement with regard to its new Nexus smartphones.
