'GTA 6' release date rumors: Game to be available when the Xbox Two and Playstation 5 come out?
Rockstar Games has had a massive hit with its "Grand Theft Auto" ("GTA") franchise, and fans were waiting for an announcement of the sequel during Gamescom. Rockstar, however, remained quiet about the subject, and rumors are saying that by the time "GTA 6" comes out, that will also be the time that Microsoft and Sony have released the Xbox Two and Playstation 5.
According to some reports, gamers might need to expect the next installment of the "GTA" series to come out sometime between 2018 and 2020. Rockstar may not be in such a rush to produce a sequel as "GTA V" is said to still be performing quite well in the market.
Another reason for the delay is supposedly the development of a sequel to another famous Rockstar property, "Red Dead Redemption 2." "Red Dead Redemption" was informally known as "GTA" but with an old western setting. Therefore, instead of stealing cars and shooting up gangsters, players got to steal horses and fend off cattle rustlers.
As for the location of "GTA 6," some rumors were saying that the game will be set outside of the United States. The developers were said to have their sights on Tokyo, but since the road system in that area was more complicated than what they initially thought, the idea was eventually canceled.
Some fans are guessing that if "GTA 6" were to come out with the Xbox Two and PS5, it would come with a VR feature. Since Rockstar Games are known for their ability to emulate an entire world in a game, perhaps virtual reality may be the best direction for the "GTA" franchise to go.
As of now, there has been no official news on "Grand Theft Auto 6," but fans can expect more updates on the game over time.
