Filming for "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" was completed without The Collector, but actor Benicio Del Toro was recently spotted in his character's get-up.

Such fueled speculations that he will be part of the sequel even though director James Gunn and the actor himself have already said that he won't be.

However, as SlashFilm points out, Del Toro will not be in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" as filming has already ended.

In addition, the production was held in Atlanta, while the actor was spotted rocking his The Collector guise in Los Angeles, making it unlikely for him to be in "Thor: Ragnarok" and "Spider-Man: Homecoming," which are currently in production in Australia and Atlanta, respectively.

It is more likely that Del Toro slipped into his The Collector character once more for Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT, a new ride in Disneyland California set in the character's museum.

The attraction shows off The Collector's "unique collection of fauna, relics and species" along with his "latest prized possessions: the Guardians of the Galaxy themselves."

In related news, Gunn spoke about when the trailer for "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" will be released in his latest Facebook Fan Q&A (Question and Answer).

"Not too long. Also not too soon," the director said as to when to expect the trailer. Fans were disappointed that no clips were shown at the 2016 San Diego Comic-Con, but it appears that there won't be a long wait.

Gunn also revealed that Mantis, who will be brought to life on the big screen by Pom Klementieff, was supposed to be in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2."

"In my initial treatment I had a whole other Guardian involved. I loved the character and loved including him/her, and thought my take was fun," Gunn explained.

"But I started to feel that there were two [too] many characters in the story and for all of the characters to get their due, I needed to remove one. So this character left, and Mantis stayed," he revealed.

"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" will be in cinemas on May 5, 2017.
