The iPhone 6 Plus (L) and the Asus ZenFone 2 | APPLE/ASUS

On the other hand, the Asus ZenFone 2 has a brushed metal body and a curved back that tapers down to thin edges. A major advantage for the iPhone 6 Plus is its Touch ID fingerprint sensor which the ZenFone 2 does not have.

The platforms on the phones are miles apart, with the recently released ZenFone 2 featuring the Intel Atom Z3580 chipset along with a Quad-core 2.3 GHz CPU and PowerVR G6430 GPU. Compared to this, the iPhone 6 Plus has an Apple A8 chipset, a dual-core 1.4 GHz Cyclone CPU and a PowerVR GX6450 GPU. A major advantage with the ZenFone 2 is that it will be sold either with 2 GB or 4 GB of RAM while the iPhone 6 Plus only has 1 GB of RAM.

Coming to microSD slots, the iPhone 6 Plus, like other Apple devices, does not have one, while the ZenFone 2 has a slot which supports up to 64 GB of external memory.

Finally in terms of price, the 16GB iPhone 6 Plus is priced at $299 with a two-year contract. As for the ZenFone 2, its 2 GB RAM version will be priced at $199 without a contract, while the pricing for the 4 GB version has yet to be announced.
