iPhone 6 Plus vs Samsung Galaxy S6 Review: Specs, Price Comparison - Duel Between Apple, Samsung Flagship Devices

Apple's phablet the iPhone 6 Plus might not have to look very far for a competitor as all indications point towards Samsung releasing a stunning Galaxy S6 on March 2 during M.W.C. 2015. Here's how the rumored Galaxy S6 compares to the iPhone 6 Plus.

Design

Samsung recently released the Galaxy A7 with a metal body, and it looks like the Galaxy S6 will get the same treatment and come with either a metal unibody or a metal frame with glass for its front and back panels. The iPhone 6 Plus meanwhile has a premium metal unibody and curved edges.

Display

The iPhone 6 Plus has a 5.5-inch IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 401 pixels per inch, which easily makes it the best among the iPhone range. However, the Galaxy S6 is rumored to have a super AMOLED screen measuring 5.5 inches with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels, much like the one available on the Galaxy Note 4 which will give it more pixels per inch. Also rumors indicate that the Galaxy S6 will come with an edge variant which will have a curved display just like the Galaxy Note Edge.

Specs

The iPhone 6 Plus has the Apple A8 chipset, dual-core 1.4 GHz Cyclone CPU and PowerVR GX GPU. Compared to this, the Galaxy S6 was initially rumored to have the Snapdragon 810 chipset but recently Samsung opted to use the Exynos 7420 chipset instead and it will be coupled with a quad-core 1.3 GHz Cortex-A53 & quad-core 1.9 GHz Cortex-A57 CPU and Mali-T760 GPU.

Memory

The iPhone 6 Plus has no memory card slot, while the Galaxy S6, much like other Samsung smartphones, is expected to have one that will allow for addition of up to 128 GB of external memory.

Camera

The Galaxy S6 is rumored to come with a 20 megapixel camera that will be a major upgrade, while the iPhone 6 Plus has an 8 megapixel camera.

Price

The Galaxy S6 could cost anywhere between $650-$680 without a two-year contract, while the iPhone 6 Plus costs $749 without a contract.
