'Longmire' season 5 release date, spoilers news: Production almost done for upcoming season as September premiere eyed? Lead stars done filming?
Even as there were rumors that "Longmire" season 5 will be the show's last, fans have been excitedly gearing up for its forthcoming release. Now that it has been confirmed that the series is going strong, and talks about its cancellation are just rumors, fans want to know when the fifth season would start airing.
The fact that "Longmire" season 5 will purportedly focus on Walt (Robert Taylor) and Vic's (Katee Sackhoff) love life only serves to fuel the fans' excitement.
Well, according to reports, Taylor, Sackhoff, Lou Diamond Phillips, and the rest of the cast are now done filming season 5 and are just preparing for re-shoots should there be a need for such. Phillips, who plays Henry Standing Bear in the series, even shared pictures from the set showing the production team celebrating after a successful season 5 filming.
Phillips' caption didn't escape the scrutiny of some fans who immediately started the buzz that a sixth season could be in the offing. Nevertheless, Netflix has not released any word yet to confirm whether there will be a season 6 or not. For now, fans would do well to take Phillips' Twitter post with a grain of salt.
What's certain is that some of the cast and crew, as well as the author of the book series from which "Longmire" was adapted from, Craig Johnson, took part in the recently concluded 2016 Longmire Days that took place in Wyoming last July 8 and continued through to July 10.
Meanwhile, while Netflix is yet to confirm if a sixth season is forthcoming, the network did confirm that fans of the series would only have to wait until September for the premiere episode of "Longmire" season 5. According to Carter Matt, all episodes of the series will be made available right off the bat.
"Longmire" season 5 is set to premiere on Sept. 23, Friday, on Netflix.
