Los Angeles Clippers trade rumors: No sign of Griffin wanting to leave

The Los Angeles Clippers are off to a hot start in the NBA season yet they are still affected by some trade rumors.

At the moment, the Clippers hold the best record with a 12-2 pip. They have done so in an impressive fashion as the only team with double figures in win differential at 14.2.

Prior to the season, there have been talks about some of the pieces moving away from the Clippers, but none of them have come to fruition.

One of the bigger rumors surrounding them was that Blake Griffin was going to leave the team and possibly join his hometown franchise, the Oklahoma City Thunder.

While various reports, tried to see just how that deal could have fallen through, it appears that there is no sign that Griffin wants out of the Clippers this early in the season.

In a report by Zach Lowe of ESPN, the Thunder have already invested much of their money to re-signing players like Steven Adams and Victor Oladipo.

With Russell Westbrook already in the team and getting the bulk of the cap, the Thunder might have difficulty luring in Griffin even if they wanted to.

This certainly bodes well for the Clippers as Griffin is having a stellar season so far. Close to his averages throughout his career, Griffin is putting up 21.2 points, 9.2 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game this year. His field goal percentages are down but one can expect that to level out soon.

Given that the Clippers are great where they are right now, and the team is firing on all cylinders, the mindset of Griffin and the rest of the Clippers will be to go all in and try to win it all.

It has certainly eluded them in previous seasons despite having one of the best lineups. However, it is their performances in the post-season that should define them.
