Miami Heat trade rumors 2016: May lose Dwyane Wade and Whiteside
After a relatively successful run in the NBA Playoffs, the Miami Heat are looking at a potentially big summer where they risk to lose some of their best players.
Finishing the Eastern Conference as the third-best team, the Heat reached the second round of the playoffs where they faced the Toronto Raptors. They ultimately lost in seven games, but many were impressed by how the Heat played in the season.
Most importantly, many saw that Dwyane Wade is still capable of taking over games. Already a three-time champion, Wade has shown that he can put on vintage performances to help his team get a win.
However, fast forward to today and it seems like a distant memory as Wade may be looking for a way out of Miami.
Spending his entire career with the Heat, many believed that he would finish out his career in Florida, but with talks on his contract stalling, it appears Wade is ready to search for other places to play in.
According to Mavs Moneyball, Wade has now reached out to other teams like the Dallas Mavericks and the San Antonio Spurs. This may be a way to show the Heat that Wade is still an important player and can still get big teams to try and sign him.
In his career, Wade averages 23.7 points and 5.8 rebounds per game and he still shoots 49 percent.
And despite being 34 years old, Wade still has more than enough to help a team get another championship.
Meanwhile, other reports reveal another big player possibly making his way out of the Heat: Hassan Whiteside.
According to Blazer's Edge, Whiteside is being approached by a number of teams and is looking at a big pay day in the coming season.
Breaking out this year, Whiteside has shown signs of his potential as a double-double machine and a great defensive presence.
Last year, Whiteside finished the year averaging 14.2 points, 11.8 rebounds and 3.7 blocks per game.
Furthermore, he is considered a steal as he only made around $980,000 in the year.
Looking to load some money on the center, teams like the New York Knicks, Los Angeles Lakers and the Portland Trail Blazers are looking to pry Whiteside away from Florida.
