Moto Z Play release date: Sept. 6 launch tipped; device takes another trip to GFXBench

A week prior to its purported launch, the Moto Z Play passes by the GFXBench where some of its specifications were revealed.

The benchmark listing revealed that the device will be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor clocked 2.0 GHz processor with an Adreno 506 GPU.

This is paired with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB internal memory. The listing also revealed that the Moto Z Play will don a 5.5-inch full HD (high-definition) display and a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera.

Those who were following the updates on the Moto Z Play would not be surprised as the set of specs mirror the ones that were leaked by its TENAA certification.

Other specs revealed in the certification include a 5MP front-facing camera as well as 4K video playback. To keep the device awake is a 3510 mAh battery.

In a previous leak, this time a promotional poster for the Moto Z Play, it was shown that the device comes with Moto Mod support, which allows users to transform their phones.

They can do so by throwing in a speaker on the device or a projector. An extra battery can even be added on the Moto Z Play with Moto Mods.

The Moto Z Play also shares the same feature with its Moto Z brothers released back in June and this is the fast charging capability, which juices up the device with 10 hours worth of battery life in just 15 minutes of charge.

With regards to the design, the Moto Z Play is rumored to come with a glass back panel, which should make for a sleek design.

As for the measurement, the leak indicates that it will have the measurements 156.4 x 76.4 x 6.99 mm and will be 165 g in weight.

In another leak, it was revealed that the Moto Z Play will be launched in China on Sept. 6. The price will e reportedly between $400 and $500 in the said country.
