The events that happened during the season 4 finale of "Orange Is the New Black" are enough for fans to hang on tight until an official premiere date for the fifth season is provided. Nevertheless, viewers must be wondering what could happen as a result of season 4's cliffhanger of an ending.

To refresh the memories of viewers, "Orange Is the New Black" season 4 ended with Daya (Dascha Polanco), a determined look on her face, aiming a gun at CO Humphrey (Michael Torpey). It was never shown, though, whether she pulled the trigger or not; thus, it's one of the things to look forward to when "Orange Is the New Black" season 5 returns.

There's also a possibility that Gloria (Selenis Leyva) would stop Daya from committing a potential crime despite her violent leadership.

Meanwhile, Vine Report said that a potential turf war among the Latinas of Litchfield Penitentiary could be one of the arcs for the upcoming season. It would be remembered that there was an uprising against brutal guards under the leadership of Piscatella (Brad William Henke). The skirmish was violent enough to take the life of Poussey (Samira Wiley), one of the characters whom fans love.

If the turf war escalates, then "Orange Is the New Black" season 5 could see more pronounced roles for Flaca (Jackie Cruz), Maritza (Diane Guerrero) and Daya. With Poussey's death, half of the show's comedic duo is gone (the other half being Taystee, played by Danielle Brooks). Hence, there's a possibility that Flaca and Maritza or "Flaritza" will provide the laughs from this point on.

In related news, the stars of the series have just revealed that filming for season 5 is underway. Popsugar recently posted pictures from some of the cast members' Instagram accounts showing them getting ready for their scenes. Among those who unselfishly shared their photos where Cruz and Laura Gómez who plays Blanca.

Moreover, Lori Petty, who played Alex's (Laura Prepon) schizophrenic friend Lolly, has confirmed that she hasn't received a call from the network yet; thus, it's unclear if she will be back for season 5.

"Certainly hope so. I do think we will. I can't say for sure, but I absolutely think we will. They are just now filming episode one [of season five] and you know how we ended season four. They have a lot to deal with right now! I'm just waiting on the phone call to get back on the plane. I'm sure it will come, but we have 13 episodes and they've got a lot to take care of, so we'll see," Petty told The Hollywood Reporter.

"Orange Is the New Black" season 5 is expected to premiere in June 2017.
