It is customary for "Overwatch" to organize an event for a certain occasion. It could be remembered that players have enjoyed the title's Summer games to celebrate the Olympics, aside from the Halloween and Christmas events.

In the coming days, players of "Overwatch" will enjoy another event that will truly stir more interest in the game. Titled as "Year of the Rooster," players will be celebrating the Chinese New Year with hours of "Overwatch" enjoyment.

Blizzard announced that the "Year of the Rooster" event will start on Jan. 24. The studio took it to Twitter to post a video with a caption, "Good luck and great fortune await!"

No details have been revealed as to what the event will contain. However, it is highly speculated that D.Va and Mei will have new skins as this is seen in the game's South Korean account.

Mei was last seen with a new skin in the "Overwatch" Christmas event. In the upcoming event, she is seen with her hair neatly tied in a bun, with a traditional costume with red and gold color.

And since she already took the limelight last month, fans believe that D.Va, this time, will be the focus of the event. Considering her career as a professional gamer, Digital Trends wrote that it would be interesting to witness a Starcraft-II inspired theme that could contribute a certain twist to the traditional "Overwatch" setting.

Meanwhile, fans are giving their own two cents about what the characters will have for their skins. Tumblr user named apselene shared a photo of her own take with Mei's New Year skin.

Reddit user Fenrion, on the other hand, shared that the brawl should combine the myth about the occasion. The player wrote, "The tale of Chinese New Year is that every year a monster named Nian comes out of hiding ... to terrorize villages and eat children. The only way to defeat Nian is to set off fireworks, play loud drums and perform lion dances to scare off Nian and celebrate Chinese New Year happily and safely! Well, in game, the brawl could be heroes needing to set off fireworks and play loud drums to damage the boss or just shoot it down."
