Portland Trail Blazers trade rumors: Blazers rumored to get big men
At the moment, the Portland Trail Blazers are trying to maximize their chances in the Northwest Division now that the cluster is wide open. Previously dominated by the Oklahoma City Thunder, the scales have now balanced and the Blazers are hoping that they can move upward in the standings.
They are third in the group with an 8-9 record and are coming off back-to-back defeats.
They have a great back-court duo with Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum, but they need some advancements in other areas. Based on the rumors, there are a number of players that they might be eyeing to help strengthen the team.
Number one on the list is DeMarcus Cousins of the Sacramento Kings. As the best player from Sacramento, it appears that Cousins and the Kings have a relationship that is tough to mend. He has lost faith in the team building a support system around him and it seems that the Kings should try and move on from Cousins. If they deal him now, then they can get a lot of players.
This year, Cousins averages 27.5 points and 9.9 rebounds per game while shooting at an impressive 46 percent from the field.
If the Blazers can open up enough space for Cousins and make a deal that the Kings would be interested in, then it could happen.
Next is Brook Lopez of the Brooklyn Nets. Adding him in the squad would definitely help them become stronger in the offensive end. Known for his offensive skills, Lopez averages 20.1 points per game this season but has suffered as his shooting averages have dropped to 47 percent from a career 51 percent.
He is only 28 years old and can still improve a little bit and the Blazers could possibly lure the Nets into trading their best player by giving them a few pieces in their rebuild.
These are mere speculations but look out for moves by the Blazers before the deadline window closes.
