'Red Dead Redemption' Xbox One backwards compatibility latest news: Game finally available
Fans of Rockstar Games' open world western action-adventure game "Red Dead Redemption" who happen to have Xbox One consoles are in for a treat as the game is now available on the latest product by Microsoft.
Initially released in May 2010, the game was made available on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles.
The game garnered very positive reviews, with a lot claiming it as one of the best games of all time.
In fact, GameSpot even released an article back in 2015 claiming that the game had reached over 14 million copies sold. This proves that the game deserves the cult status it has received.
Meanwhile, Engadget reported that "Red Dead Redemption" is now backwards compatible, so fans and tech observers can expect even more sales to add on in the coming weeks.
For those who have the Xbox 360 game on hand, all they have to do is to pop the disc in the console and download the needed updates to get the game rolling on Xbox One.
Those who have the game digitally after downloading can simply access their game listings on the "my games and apps" section and re-download it from there.
Finally, the compatibility does not only apply to the main game itself, but the "Undead Nightmare" expansion pack can be downloaded as well.
Rockstar Newswire noted that all versions of the game will be available on Xbox One.
Furthermore, those who did not download the "Undead Nightmare" version back in the Xbox 360 can still grab a copy in the Xbox marketplace for $10.
For Xbox Live Gold subscribers, they are in luck as they can get "Red Dead Redemption" at a discounted price with $3 off the original $10.49.
Many are questioning whether the PlayStation 4 will come out with a backwards compatible update for the game, but Express Co reported that at the moment, Sony are concentrating on another Rockstar Games classic coming out on their consoles, "The Warriors."
