If recent speculations are true, then the WWE World Heavyweight Championship may switch hands again after WWE Battleground.

Considered as one of the biggest events on the road to SummerSlam 2016, Battleground will surely be a great show, to be held on July 24 at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C.

With only less than a month left before that event, there are many speculations on what could go down and many believe that Roman Reigns may make his return to win the championship in the main event.

Currently out due to a suspension, Reigns has 30 days off the company but should be ready to return just in time for Battleground.

And with that, only one match has been made official so far. According to Cage Side Seats, it is the main event which pits Reigns against his former Shield partners Seth Rollins and current WWE champion Dean Ambrose.

These three have had a long history together, and their rivalry is set to be intensified in the pay-per-view event.

Previously, Rollins beat Reigns for the title in the Money in the Bank pay-per-view, but only held the title for a bit as Ambrose cashed in on his contract to face the champion.

Ambrose came away with the title and has held on to it ever since.

Rollins is definitely still in the fray and is still a major threat to win at any given time, but some reports believe that Reigns may walk away as the champion.

If this remains to be the case, then clearly Reigns is still considered the top billing in the WWE. He has had multiple title reigns and has still yet to win the affection of the crowd.

While he is not the most hated superstar in the roster, Reigns is billed as the babyface but always gets lukewarm reception from the fans.

And with his recent run-in with the company guidelines, letting him win the championship immediately could easily result in even more hostile reception of Reigns.
