Samsung Galaxy A3, A5 Release, Specs Rumors: Introducing Mid-Range Phones
Samsung has finally decided to introduce its mid-range smartphones in the "A" lineup, the Samsung Galaxy A3 and A5, to the United States.
Both the A3 and the A5 phones have been on sale in other countries such as China for about a month now. However, the phones aren't going to be available through any carrier in the U.S. and will only be sold as unlocked phones through Expansys USA.
The Galaxy A3 and the A5, which both have full metal bodies, have been billed as "respectable" phones with good specs. However, as with other mid-range phones from Samsung, they cannot compete with flagship devices in terms of specs. A primary example of their mid-range specs is the Snapdragon 400 SoC that both devices have.
Android Authority notes that in spite of the lower specs, both phones provide terrific bang for the buck.
However, since they will be sold as unlocked versions, they are expected to be a bit pricey.
According to Expansys USA, the LTE devices that will soon be made available in the U.S. market will both be in white. The basic version of the Galaxy A3 comes with 8GB of onboard storage while the basic model of the A5 has 16GB.
Priced at $329.99, the Galaxy A3 has a 4.5-inch display along with 1GB of RAM and the 64-bit Snapdragon 410 chip. This phone also has an 8-megapixel camera at the back, a 1900mAh battery, and a microSD slot which can be used to expands its memory up to 64GB.
As for the Galaxy A5, its 16 GB version is priced at $409.99. It has a bigger 5-inch display. It has the same quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor as the A3 but has a bigger 2300mAh battery and also 2GB of RAM. The Galaxy A5's camera quality is also better than that of the A3 as it has a 13-megapixel camera at the back.
Both the Galaxy A5 and the A3 have dual SIM capability and have adjustable audio feature, which means it can adapt to surrounding noise levels.
