Samsung is trying to redeem itself and the only way they can do that is to successfully release their next flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S8. Unfortunately, there is no solid information available regarding the purported device yet. So, loyal fans will have to have rely on to the rumors going around for now.

According to the latest reports, the Galaxy S8 could be featuring an innovative pressure-sensitive display technology. South Korean outlet The Investor wrote, "Samsung is mulling to adopt the force touch technology partially from the S8 but the full adoption qill (sic) come in one or two years... It is a matter of time before other major Android smartphone makers deploy the technology that will help enhance user interface."

Apart from that statement, nothing much is known about this particular new feature. However, it's speculated to be a pressure-sensitive display that will work just like the Apple 3D Touch technology and the one found in Huawei's Mate S, which is the first device to adopt the technology.

Tech Times detailed that if the rumors are true, Samsung will not actually go all out with it immediately. It's said that the company will first start small then move their way forward. This means that Samsung will most likely roll out the force touch feature in the Galaxy S8 and other flagship devices in 2017. But mid-range and low-end devices will be skipped.

For those who are not aware yet, force touch technology is the feature that allows users to carry out certain tasks using the screen. There are actions that cannot be done in regular touchscreens so this is a big plus.

Aside from the new pressure-sensitive display, the Galaxy S8 is also rumored to come in two models. Reportedly codenamed SM-G950 and SM-G955, the next flagship device could be getting an Edge version. There are also reports saying that there will be no flat-screen version as both models will carry curved Edged displays.

There is no specific launch date yet but it's expected to come out during the Mobile World Congress 2017. Interested consumers will have to stay tuned to find out the real score of the Samsung Galaxy S8.
