'Spider-Man: Homecoming' spoilers: Another Avenger, UFC champ joining movie?
As the "Spider-Man: Homecoming" production makes headway, more details on the characters to be featured on the show come about.
According to the latest rumors, Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) won't be the only Avenger in the film. Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow will reportedly be there as well.
The actress was reportedly spotted on the set of "Spider-Man: Homecoming" in Atlanta. This is according to Atlanta Filming, who has been sharing updates on the production of the much-awaited movie.
They did not go into detail about the said sighting, but fans understandably went crazy about the revelation. For now, though, there's no information to corroborate this yet. Spidey's highly-anticipated homecoming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe is expected to be epic and huge. The addition of established characters in the said universe will surely make Spider-Man more integrated to the universe.
While the focus will be on actor Tom Holland bringing Peter Parker to the MCU, fans are also excited to see the people the iconic character will interact with. However, The Movie Network reminds that Johansson may not end up on "Spider-Man: Homecoming" and might be visiting a friend on the set. The site noted how rumors of this nature also hit the web for films like "Captain America: Civil War," the ones that involved Hayley Atwell reprising her role as Agent Carter, which did not happen in the film. It is a mystery at the moment if Black Widow will be one of the people Spidey will be seeing in "Spider-Man Homecoming," but it looks like Peter Parker will have a run-in with UFC Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley. During "The MMA Hour," the mixed martial artist revealed that he is "working on a Marvel movie on Thursday in Atlanta." He did not specifically say "Spider-Man: Homecoming," but the film is the only one in the works there.
According to SlashFilm, Woodley will likely play a criminal that Spider-Man will go after in "Spider-Man: Homecoming." Just recently, comedian Martha Kelly was also added to the cast for an undisclosed role.
"Spider-Man: Homecoming" will be in cinemas July 7, 2017.
