'Suits' season 6 premiere spoilers: It's all over for Rachel and Mike? Mike to spend entire 6th season in jail?

Mike Ross is purportedly spending the entire sixth season of "Suits" in jail. | Suits/Facebook

The finale episode of "Suits" season 5 saw Mike Ross calling off his wedding to Rachel Zane before he surrendered himself to the authorities for fraud. He did so to spare the Pearson Specter Litt law firm from further trouble because of his deception.

Now while speculations are rife about Mike's (Patrick J. Adams) fate, it was the actor himself who dished out everything he knows about the upcoming season, at least, as far as his character is concerned. It appears that he has already shot a total of seven episodes for the new season, all of which were taken in prison. So Adams is confident that his character would be in prison for much of the upcoming season.

"All I know is what we shot so far and I'm still in prison. They're committing to it. We're committing to it as a full storyline. Do I think it's going to be a full two years' worth of the show? My guess is probably not," the International Business Times quoted him as saying in an interview with ABC news.

The 34-year-old actor also said that although the past five seasons saw him engulfed in office surroundings, he's excited for the upcoming season's change of scenery. He shared that this particular prison isn't as some fans imagine it to be since it's more of a white-collar prison. He would also be meeting various characters while in prison and would probably be placed in a compromising position when "Suits" season 6 returns.

Meanwhile, Hollywood Life said that things are officially over for Mike and Rachel (Meghan Markle), so fans might not see Rachel visiting Mike in prison. Nevertheless, the actor believes there would be some sort of big reunion once Mike gets out of prison.

TV Guide has released the official synopsis for "Suits" season 6 episode 1 titled "To Trouble," and from judging from the episode title, it looks like the season would be packed with drama. Check out the synopsis:

"In the season 6 premiere, Mike transitions to prison life; and Harvey and the others cope with the fallout of Mike's plea deal and try to stop what's left of PSL from collapsing."

As Mike transitions to prison life, Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) would have to fix the mess from last season without his friend by his side.

"Suits" season 6 premieres on July 13 at 9 p.m. on USA.
