The Ghost Riders are a bunch of henchmen without really any purpose for being in the area, but these villains somehow got stuck in Beacon Hills against their wishes. In this manner, they will bring danger to the residents of the town.

Mythology connected to these ghostly apparitions tells of the Ghost Riders going on their haunt called the Wild Hunt. They pass through an area and take with them anyone who can see them as well as the dead.

Showrunner Jeff Davis told Entertainment Weekly, "They serve different mythological functions, but for us, they bring a lot of danger to Beacon Hills when this storm of Ghost Riders gets stuck."

These phantoms may not be as terrible or savage as the other villains who have been on the show over the past seasons, but their number is infinite plus they look fearsome.

As Tyler Posey, who plays Scott McCall on the show, shared, "They're not nice-looking. They're f–king horrifying."

Davis also points out that the Ghost Rider myth is so unlike the usual for villains that viewers will realize how this could be very important for the following season's direction. He also explained that, for a show that usually showcases "pretty bloody" villains, these new baddies will bring a "less bloody" season.

This may be all very well, but fans are also pointing out that "Teen Wolf" season 5 saw the escape of the Nazi werewolf, so that is one loose end which needs to be tied up in the next installment.

To this, Davis hints that the Nazi werewolf will have something to do with the horse-riding specters who will be stumbling into Beacon Hills.

In other related news, Dylan O'Brien will finally be coming back to the show after a bout with injuries sustained from filming his upcoming movie, "Maze Runner: The Death Cure." He will be back playing his role as Stiles Stilinski in the upcoming season 6 of "Teen Wolf" now that he is recovered.

Davis revealed, "Stiles is a big part of the season because a lot of this season's mystery revolves around him."

"Teen Wolf" season 6 debuts this fall on MTV.
