'The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild' will have alternative ending, series producer Eiji Aonuma confirms
It is still a couple of weeks away before "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" rolls out with Nintendo Switch, but as early as now, series producer Eiji Aonuma has given fans the green light to set their sights on alternative endings.
In an exclusive interview with media outlet IGN Portugal, which was picked up and translated by Nintendo Life, the title boss was bold in confirming about the possibility of gamers getting a different finale than the others. But he says that it will be no random feat as there are some specifics in order to nab this unique ending.
"Yes there is an alternate ending, there is a certain criteria you have to fulfil to see it," Aonuma stated. "Essentially, you do some specific things and you'll see a different ending."
Different incantations of title finale are not necessarily new to the "Zelda" franchise. For example, "The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask," which was released in the early 2000s had varied credits depending on one's mask collection number. 2009's "The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks" meanwhile determines its last sequence via the subtle differences on how a gamer answers Zelda's final questions. Lastly, "The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening" all the way from the 1990s has something special in store for those who did not die even once throughout the whole gameplay.
Obviously, Aonuma could not be bothered with any hint as to how to land the alternative ending but a lot of long-time fans believe that it will have to be something similar to what its predecessors have presented.
Meanwhile, as previously mentioned, "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" will debut with the Nintendo Switch. But on top of that, it will also be the last content from the company to land on the Wii U and it appears that the Japanese group did not cop out on their previous console's version of the title.
In a report by IGN, the much-anticipated "Zelda" incantation will run at 720p, not much of a difference from Switch's 900p and both will get the same framerate of 30 FPS. The only holdout really is that the "Special Edition" and "Master Edition" of "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" will be exclusive to the hybrid device, which means Wii U owners will have to settle for the standard version of the game.
