Recent reports on the upcoming third season of "The Royals" revealed that a new character has been cast to play a pivotal role. However, if recent pictures taken from the series' location shoot are to be believed, it looks like a "dead" character is coming back to life this season.

TV Line got first dibs on the information that Jules Knight of BBC One's "Holby City" will have a recurring role on "The Royals" season 3 as Spencer Hoenigsberg, the new Lord Chamberlain to the Queen of England. This will be the first time that Knight would appear on a US-made television series.

The character is described as "smart, charismatic and cunning." Apparently, Spencer is a professional willing to go the extra mile to make sure his job is a job well done. He has excellent taste and a knack for the details. Despite a bit of a rough start, his future in the palace is certain to be a bright one."

Meanwhile, HOFMag said that fans should brace for one of the most scandalous seasons so far. It appears that a character who has been presumed dead would come back to stake his claim, his rightful place in the throne.

While some fans deduce that no one has more right to be king than Prince Liam (William Moseley) does, a recent report said Max Brown of "The Tudors" would be joining the series as the presumed dead Prince Robert.

A scene during the season 2 finale, where a detailed shot of an unconscious man wearing a helmet inscribed with "R Henstridge" was apparently a dead giveaway that Prince Robert Henstridge is alive, according to Bustle.

Several photos taken from the set of "The Royals" season 3 likewise support the report that Brown would be part of the upcoming season. According to Digital Spy, the scene being taped seemed to be a carry-over from when the character left. Check out the set photos here.

Sophie Colquhoun, who played Prince Liam's spoiled love interest in season 1, would be coming back to the series, too. She could play a pivotal role, too, as the one who has inside information on how Prince Robert supposedly survived the accident.

At any rate, it looks like "The Royals" season 3 would not only be settling closures for some of the characters but would also be dropping a huge bomb that could twist the story in several turns.

Keep coming back for updates and details on the official premiere date of "The Royals" season 3.
