Toshiba managed to turn heads when it introduced its newest convertible laptop, the Portégé X20W, at the ongoing Consumer Electronics Show (CES). Even though it is thin and light, the 2-in-1 notebook comes with professional-grade features which will surely meet the different demands of the workplace.

The Toshiba Portégé X20W features a 12.5-inch diagonal Full HD multi-touch display with a resolution of 1,920 x 1080 pixels. The screen comes with Wacom Feel technology which provides a realistic pen-on-paper writing experience. Using the Toshiba TruPen, a battery-powered stylus that can detect 2,048 levels of pressure, users will be able to take notes, draw sketches, fill up forms and sign documents.

Made possible by the 360-degree dual-action hinge, the Portégé X20W can be transformed into five different modes: Laptop, Tablet, Tabletop, Presentation and Audience. The convertible laptop switches settings accordingly and has a smart-locking feature to protect the keyboard. Furthermore, the display has Corning Gorilla Glass 4 on top to prevent damage from shocks and accidental bumps.

The Portégé X20W runs the Windows 10 Pro operating system which makes it ideal for use in the office. It is powered by seventh-generation Intel Core processors and has support for solid state drive (SSD) memory for faster performance. For security, a fingerprint sensor has been built into the touchpad and two IR cameras allow for facial authentication via Windows Hello. The convertible laptop also supports Cortana, Microsoft Edge and Windows Ink.

Even when users find themselves having to work remotely or on the go, they can still have optimal levels of productivity. The Portégé X20W is only 15.4 mm thin and weighs less than 2.5 pounds. This means that it is easy to bring along anywhere. The 2-in-1 device also provides up to 16 hours of battery life.

The Portégé X20W is available in two colors: Slate Grey and Onyx Blue. In terms of connectivity, there is a USB 3.0 port and a USB Type-C port with support for Thunderbolt 3. The convertible laptop also has a premium audio system from Harman Kardon and DTS Sound software.

The Toshiba Portégé X20W in Slate Grey will be available to purchase soon at Microsoft Store and microsoftstore.com. Meanwhile, the Onyx Blue version will be available later this month at Toshiba's website. The convertible laptop will also be offered by select resellers starting February. Pricing has yet to be announced.
