'Uncharted 4' DLC release date, news, and updates: Co-op and single player horde mode to arrive on December
Sony and Naughty Dog have recently announced that a new co-op and single player Survival mode will be released for "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End."
According to reports, the new DLC for "Uncharted 4" officially arrives in December. The horde mode can include up to three players who must survive across 50 waves and 10 maps. Gamers will face Snipers, Hunters, Shoreline mercenaries, heavily armored Brutes, and more. As time goes on, these enemies will get more aggressive, precise and better equipped.
Story
The "Uncharted 4" DLC will reportedly center on Nathan's brother, Sam Drake. Although the spotlight will no longer be on the "Uncharted" franchise's famed protagonist, Nathan will still make an appearance in the game. Inspired by the plot of "Uncharted 4," the update features some of the Founders of Libertalia re-entering the picture to hunt the player down through the use of powerful Mystical attacks.
Gameplay
It is important to note that Survival doesn't just require dispatching enemies. For a player to reach wave 50, objective modes must first be completed. The said mode includes victories which depend on collecting treasures within a time limit, taking out marked enemies or defending a specific location. The game will also throw a curveball from time to time. For instance, it is possible for an active modifier to make it so only headshots, pistols or melee strikes do damage to enemies.
In-game Cash
While finishing objectives and taking down opponents, players are able to earn in-game cash which they can use to buy everything—from long guns, Heavy Weapons, Mysticals and other equipment. It can also be used to unlock and equip gears and weapons through arsenal crates placed around the map.
"Uncharted 4: Survival" will be playable during the PlayStation Experience (PSX) fan expo in California starting Dec. 3 to 4. Naughty Dog has yet to announce a definitive release date for the upcoming DLC.
