An abortionist knelt down next to a pro-life protester to pray and gave thanks to God for having the ability to terminate women's pregnancies.

The encounter between the abortionist and a pro-life protester occurred outside the North American Forum on Family Planning conference at the Palmer House Hilton hotel in Chicago, Illinois on Nov. 16. The conference was hosted by Planned Parenthood and the Society for Family Planning, according to The Christian Post.

Some of those who were present at the event include Deborah Nucatola and Deborah VanDerhei, who were recorded discussing the sales of aborted baby parts in undercover videos released by the Center for Medical Progress last year.

The abortionist knelt down on the sidewalk next to a large poster held by Pro-Life Action League's National Director Joe Scheidler and started praying. The group was able to capture the woman's prayer on video.

"Dear Heavenly Father, I'm grateful today to be here at this wonderful meeting and I wanted to express to you the gratitude and humility I feel as an abortionist," the woman said.

"I can imagine no person who is in greater need of Christlike love and excellent medical care than a woman who is faced with an untenable pregnancy. And I am grateful every day to feel thy spirit and thy guiding hand in my work as I speak to women of all faiths and all creeds," she continued.

She noted in her prayer that there is no organized faith community to support her but she maintained that she has the "support of the world." She prayed that God would "soften the hearts" of pro-life activists and that they would "see the cruelty and the damage that their actions lead to," referring to the women who are suffering from stigma against abortion.

Matt Yonke, who was able to witness the woman's prayer, encouraged others to pray for the abortionist so that she would realize the injustice she is committing against the unborn.

Yonke added that pro-lifers should learn to pray for those who oppose their message without assuming to know their motives. He reminded the pro-lifers that prayers for the opposition are for their conversion and salvation not judgment or condemnation.
