Acer Predator 21 X release date, specs, price news: Gaming laptop with curved screen and GTX 1080 GPUs to cost $8,999
Hardcore gamers will be pleased to know that Acer has announced the availability of the Predator 21 X, a monstrous gaming laptop with premium components and innovative technologies to deliver an immersive and unmatched user experience.
The Acer Predator 21 X features a 21-inch IPS curved display with a resolution of 2,560 x 1080 and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. It is equipped with eye-tracking technology from Tobii which allows users to track and attack enemies as well as seek cover just by gazing at objects on the screen. The curved screen also comes with NVIDIA G-SYNC technology to ensure smooth and sharp gameplay. With all these features working together, users are provided with a truly immersive experience.
Under the hood, the gaming laptop is powered by the seventh-generation Intel Core i7-7820HK processor which is overclockable. There are also two NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 graphics processing units for optimal levels of performance and responsiveness.
The Predator 21 X can be configured to support up to 64 GB of DDR4-2400 memory, up to 512 GB of solid state drive (SSD) memory and up to 1 TB of hard-drive memory. Connectivity-wise, Killer DoubleShot Pro ensures that the laptop is using the fastest internet connection possible. There is also a USB Type-C port with Thunderbolt 3 support.
During intense gaming sessions, heat coming from the laptop is dissipated via an advanced cooling architecture made up of five system fans and nine heat pipes. Acer's CoolBoost app can also be used to adjust airflow to ensure optimal cooling during heavy use. Furthermore, Acer's DustDefender prevents the notebook from accumulating dust.
Other notable features include a full-sized mechanical keyboard Cherry MX Brown switches that are backlit and programmable, a numeric keypad that can be turned into a Precision Touchpad and a three-way audio system that produces Hi-Fi sound. Furthermore, the Windows 10 laptop also has support for Windows Hello which eliminates the need for passwords by using iris recognition software for logging in.
The Acer Predator 21 X will be available to purchase in February with a starting price of $8,999.
