'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' season 4 spoilers: Life Model Decoys replaces Ghost Rider as villain; episode 10 synopsis already out
The latter half of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 4 is up for airing on January. Fans have been waiting for the plot that involves the Ghost Rider, who may be gone for a long time. This means the group has another threat to face in a new story arc that will feature Life Model Decoys.
The early exit of Ghost Rider, known by the Marvel fans as Robbie Reyes, left the group with no one to face against. "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." showrunners were quick to replace Ghost Rider with Life Model Decoys, who is recognized as a staple character in the Marvel universe.
This does not mean that Ghost Rider will be gone from the show forever — the villain will be parked for a moment so as to give LMD a spot on the show. This has disappointed the fans, but the show's executive producer, Jeffrey Ball, explained that casting the Ghost Rider for the entire season may be too much. For now, Ghost Rider is not dead but is just trapped in an unknown place.
Furthermore, it is believed that the show has to consider their budget since the Ghost Rider is very costly as compared to LMD. Ghost Rider has to have computer graphics imagery (CGI) effects in order to place the flames on the head of Luna effectively.
Life of Model Decoys enters the stage of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." as a new threat and will be seen in the premiere of the season 4. This is said to be the perfect time for LMD to come out in the show, according to Comic Book.
Meanwhile, the synopsis of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 4 episode 10 is already out. Titled as "The Patriot," it introduces a hero that was launched during the 1940s.
"Coulson and Mack discover a shocking secret about Mace, which leaves all of S.H.I.E.L.D. in a dangerous position," the synopsis reads.
"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." will premiere its 9th episode titled "Broken Promises" on Jan. 10 on ABC.
