Alan Robertson, one of the famous stars of "Duck Dynasty," recently discussed why he and his many family members have chosen to marry young.

While speaking in an email to The Christian Post, Robertson, who is a pastor, said that the family is able to marry young because of their faith in God. The Robertson family is preparing to celebrate the wedding if 19-year-old John Luke in the coming weeks.

"It does seem to be a Robertson tradition to marry young and by God's grace, we are all still going strong in our marriages," Robertson told The Christian Post in a recent email. "Obviously, our faith in Christ is the key to that and our dedication to always try to react to one another, as Paul challenged the Philippians to do in (sic) Php. 2:3-5 makes a big difference, as well."

Robertson went on to discuss the importance of understanding the commitment of marriage regardless of age.

"I don't feel there is a wrong or right age, but whenever the decision is made, the commitment must be set out to be a lifelong, permanent one," Robertson told The Christian Post. "From a purity standpoint, it is a plus marrying younger, but on a maturity level, it is more of a challenge."

The young couple, John Luke and Mary Kate McEacharn, have been vocal about their commitment to each other as they prepare for marriage.

"With God as our leader, we know that we can make it," MacEacharn previously said. "A lasting marriage doesn't depend on your age, it depends on your love for God and your love for each other, and your willingness to make it work.
