"Alien: Covenant" is supposed to have a similar feel to the original "Alien" film, so expect it to be a full-blown sci-fi/horror flick. But will it be as good as the first film? Katherine Waterston, the actress portraying Daniels, seems to think so, and she told ComicBook.com that fans would enjoy watching the scary parts of the film despite the horrifying violence in those sequences.

"It's freaky. It's definitely scary. I think people can handle it but it's going to be a thrill. I don't think it's going to destroy anybody's lives or anything but it is definitely scary. There's levity in it, too, and wonderful interpersonal dynamics and stuff. That was something that was so great about the original film. You really felt you knew these people and that they were specific and lovely and sad to see them go," she stated.

Well, Waterston seemed a bit squeamish after she watched a clip of the film at 20th Century Fox's 2017 Film Showcase event earlier this month. But she did admit that she couldn't handle scary movies, which was quite ironic because she's starring in one.

In an interview with Screen Rant, Waterston also spoke about how "Alien: Covenant" shares some elements found in both "Prometheus" and "Alien." But she notes that the film was "its own thing."

Meanwhile, CinemaBlend managed to catch up with Waterston and asked her which "Alien" film fans should watch before they go to the cinemas to watch "Alien: Covenant." Well, the obvious answer was "Prometheus." After all, Michael Fassbender is reprising his role as David in this film, so there's obviously a connection between the two films. Besides Fassbender, it is rumored that Noomi Rapace and Guy Pearce will reprise their roles as Elizabeth Shaw and Peter Weyland in "Alien: Covenant."

"Alien: Covenant" is scheduled to premiere on May 19, 2017.
