AMD and Nvidia are currently contesting for the best graphics card developer in the business, but so far, Nvidia has been in the lead with its GTX 1080 processor. Rumor has it that AMD is working on another graphics card called the Vega 10, and it is said to be released in late 2016.

An earlier report speculated that the GPU may be coming sometime around 2017, but news has come out that the Vega 10 may very well be released in 2016. The Vega 10 will be included in a two-part release for the series that will be debuting this year.

Vega 10 will be the base version of the GPU coming out this year, and the upper-tier Vega 11 cards will be released in 2017. This series is possibly AMD's answer to Nvidia's GTX and Titan X series.

On the other hand, TechFrag reported that the release of the Vega 10 cards in 2016 may just be a way to introduce the graphics cards to the market. The Vega 10 card that will be released this year is said to be an upper-tier card with an appropriate price tag. The more affordable consumer versions of the Vega 10 are said to be available in early 2017.

It's also reported that both Vega 10 and 11 cards will be based on new GCN graphics architecture. It will also supposedly have next-gen V9 cores and up to 12-teraflops of computer performance.

If these specs prove to be true, then AMD may have found its champion in the fight against Nvidia's GTX series. Will AMD come out on top or will Nvidia still have the best graphics card in the business?

As of now, AMD has yet to come up with a more detailed schedule for the release of the Vega series, but rest assured, fans will be getting their hands on it soon.
