The showrunner for "American Horror Story" season 7 is keeping his lips tight when it comes to the theme of the upcoming season of the FX horror series. Meanwhile, fan theories about "American Horror Story" caught the showrunner and casts' attention.

"American Horror Story" season 7 is slated to premiere this year, and according to FX president John Landgraf, executive producer Ryan Murphy is keeping the theme a secret up until its launch, E! Online reports.

Murphy then said that there are only three people who know what he has in store for "American Horror Story" season 7, which are Landgraf, Dana Walden, and Sarah Paulson. Landgraf then teased that season 7 will be set in the present and that it will see the return of Paulson and Evan Peters.

"American Horror Story" was actually renewed up to a ninth season, and themes have not yet been assigned for seasons 8 and 9. But Murphy mentioned at Entertainment Weekly's PopFest that they are going to do a "crossover between 'Murder House' and 'Coven' together, which is very bizarre."

Meanwhile, there have been fan theories going around that Murphy's "American Horror Story" anthology is actually patterned from Dante's "Inferno."

In an interview with TV Guide, Murphy shared that he likes this theory, but he shared that he has his own pattern that he will not reveal anytime soon.

"I have a theory about the show that I've never told anybody and probably won't until it's over, but that theory is a good one. I always learn a lot about my theory based on other people's theories which is really all I can say," Murphy explained.

The showrunner added, "I read those theories obsessively and compulsively, I cannot get enough of them, I really do. And the other actors do too. Like Sarah Paulson will talk about that all the time."

"American Horror Story" season 7 is expected to premiere in 2017.
