'American Horror Story' season 7 release date, cast news, plot updates: Upcoming installment's storyline to be connected to a previous season
"American Horror Story" was picked up for a seventh season just after season 6 aired its finale episode. The storyline for season 7 is expected to be connected to a previous season.
Created by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, "American Horror Story" has been confirmed for a seventh season right after season 6 ended with its final episode. The series was even given praise by FX president, John Landgraf, during the announcement of a new season, according to CNN.
"Ryan, Brad and their team of remarkable writers have done an amazing job of keeping 'American Horror Story' endlessly inventive, shocking and entertaining and we are honored to move ahead with them on the seventh installment," Landgraf said.
Landgraf pointed out that the franchise has been successful in captivating its fans all throughout six seasons and added that, "'AHS' confronts our deepest fears with unmatched suspense and style."
The new season is expected to premiere in 2017, and based on previous seasons, "American Horror Story" might debut in the month of October. But Den of Geek points out that "American Horror Story" season 6 was the first to break the chain and debuted in September, so it is also possible that season 7 lands on a September premiere date.
The storyline for season 7 has been confirmed to be connected to a previous "American Horror Story" season, according to Entertainment Weekly.
"Next year, we will be going back to some 'Freak Show' characters, deeper histories and mythologies. So we're sort of still exploring season 4 in season 7," Murphy shared in an interview.
Aside from Murphy's confirmation, a teaser was also posted in the official Twitter account of "American Horror Story," hinting at possible plots for the new season. Based on the teaser, it is speculated that season 7 might feature the story of how and why the original supreme, Scathach (Lady Gaga), was brought to the country via a cruise ship.
"American Horror Story" season 7 is expected to debut in 2017.
