'American Idol' 2015 Elimination, Results Recap: Top Nine Contestants; Adanna and Maddie Out

Last Wednesday night's episode of "American Idol" on Fox saw two of the Top Nine contestants leaving the show. Two were eliminated this week instead of just one because last week Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr. saved Qaasim Middleton after his strong performance of "Come Together" by the Beatles.

Before the individual performances, David Hasselhoff showed up and sang a medley of 1980s' tunes. Boy George, this week's mentor, then joined the contestants in singing Culture Club's "Karma Chameleon." Salt-N-Pepa also showed up and performed "Push It."

Wednesday night's theme was music in the 1980s. First up was Daniel Seavey who performed "You Make My Dreams Come True" by Hall & Oates. He won praise from the judges who described his vocals as "pretty good."

Then Quentin Alexander performed "In the Air Tonight" by Phil Collins, easily earning a lot of appreciation from the audience and judges alike.

Joey Cook was next up with "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" by Cyndi Lauper. The judges, Jennifer Lopez in particular, were quick to point out that her song choice did not suit her vocals.

Up next was Tyanna Jones with "I Wanna Dance with Somebody" by Whitney Houston. Critics said her performance was uninspiring and stale and showed that she had issues with her pitch.

Jax followed Tyanna and belted out "You Give Love a Bad Name" by Bon Jovi. Some judges appreciated her performance for its arrangement and melody while others criticized her vocals especially towards the end of the song where she garbled the lyrics.

Up next was Nick Fradiani who performed "Man in the Mirror" by Michael Jackson. The judges said it was a great performance, noting the emotions he put in the song.

Clark Beckham then followed with "Every Breath You Take" by The Police. The judges said he managed to convey that there was story in the song with his vocals.

Last week's survivor Qaasim Middleton then performed "Addicted to Love" by Robert Palmer and it appeared that he still did not have a clue what he was doing.

Rayvon Owen, the last performer of the night, then sang "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" by Tears for Fears. The judges noted that his voice was pitchy in some instances.

After the performances, Adanna, Maddie and Rayvon landed in the bottom three. Adanna and Maddie were subsequently eliminated.
