Motorola gadget supporters will be happy to know that Motorola Deutschland recently confirmed that several of their phone models will be receiving an Android 7.0 Nougat update this December.

On Dec. 6, Motorola announced on their official Twitter page the dates when the Android Nougat updates would start to launch for select models.

As reported by Mobi Picker, the fourth-generation Moto G and the Moto Play will be receiving their update before Christmas. The Moto Z Play, on the other hand, will be receiving the Android 7.0 Nougat update by January 2017. This will be followed soon after by an update on the Moto X series and the Nexus 6.

These planned updates are in congruence with the earlier statement made by Motorola in October that 15 smartphones from the company will have an upgrade to the new Android OS. At the time, it was also disclosed that the Android 7.0 Nougat update will kick off in the fourth quarter of 2016, starting with the Moto Z and the Moto G4 series.

It was the Verizon-exclusive Moto Z-Droid and Moto Z-Droid Force which has received the update first back in November. The Moto Z international edition was subsequently updated with the new Android OS on Dec. 6.

Other models from the Moto Z series expected to receive the Android 7.0 Nougat update are the Moto Z Play and its Verizon-counterpart, the Moto Z Play Droid, which are scheduled sometime in January next year. On the other hand, all the gadgets from the Moto G4 series such as the Moto G4, the Moto G4 Plus, and the Moto G4 Play, are slated to receive the update before Christmas on Dec. 25.

The models in the Moto X series and the Nexus 6 device are expected to have an OS upgrade to Android 7.0 Nougat sometime in the first quarter of 2017.
