Android Nougat latest news: OnePlus 3, OnePlus 3T gets 7.0 Nougat following OxygenOS 4.0 release
The start of 2017 is a delight to all OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T users due to the news that their device is set to receive the much-awaited Android 7.0 Nougat update. The company may not have fulfilled its promise of making Android Nougat available before 2017 starts, but its announcement has, at least, met what the users have been waiting for.
The release of Android 7.0 Nougat to OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T was announced by company CEO Carl Pei, who posted that the company will gradually roll out the anticipated program on New Year's Eve. He said on Dec. 31, "Android N stable OTA for the OP3 and the OP3T. Gradual rollout will begin later tonight."
Users, who are wondering how to get Android 7.0 Nougat on their OnePlus 3 or OnePlus 3T devices, should note that they will receive a notification message regarding the update. They would just select "Yes, I'm in" option and the software will begin by pressing the "Install now" option. The software update should start automatically. The device will re-start automatically once the update is done.
There is also a way to manually update the flagship devices by accessing the handset's Settings and by selecting "About phone." Once done, simply go to the "System updates" and select "Yes. I'm in." Android 7.0 Nougat should install like the steps above.
Aside from Android 7.0 Nougat, OnePlus also rolled out the OxygenOS 4.0 before the start of 2017. The operating system is based on Nougat and it has several improvements to the handsets. These includes new notifications and settings menu design, support for custom DPI, multi-window feature and notification direct reply.
It should be remembered, though, that those who have been using one of the preview builds for OnePlus 3 need to reset the device and entirely delete its date so as to download OxygenOS 4.0 without any problems.
