Android Nougat to release on various Samsung mobiles

With Android fans already aware that Nougat is the new operating system coming out from Google, the next question on their minds is when their current devices will get the new update.

While that is tough to answer given the wide range of Android devices out on the market today, recent reports revealed that some Samsung devices will get the much anticipated OS.

Looking at Samsung's normal behavior of releasing updates in reverse chronological sequence, fans can expect the most latest mobile phone to get the update first before moving back to its older models.

For those who own mid-range Samsung phones, they might be in luck as they might also get the update based on how Samsung treated the budget J series and Galaxy A phones.

Previously, mid-range phones rarely received OS updates, but with the Android Marshmallow rollout, many were surprised that the Galaxy A and J series phones were given the Android OS.

As a result, Samsung may have a widespread update among their models, regardless if they are flagship phones or not.

This means that 2016 flagship phones such as the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge will definitely get updates, while the 2015 models of the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge, Galaxy S6 edge + and S6 active, as well as Note 5 will get their updates after.

For the mid-range models, the Galaxy J7, J5, A7, A5, A3, A9, A9 Pro and Galaxy C7 may be getting their Nougat updates as well.

On the question when the rollout of the OS will take place, it is possible that the 2016 flagship phones will get the chance to upgrade towards the end of the year until the first quarter of 2017.

Of course, with the long list of devices getting the update, expect those that will also miss out on Google's Android Nougat. These phones are said to be the ones that were available back in 2014. This means the Galaxy S5, Note 4 and Note Edge are going to stay at Marshmallow.
